    Pregnant or not?
I have been having several pregnancy symptoms for over two weeks including missed period, nausea, cravings, mood swings, heart burn, sensitive nipples and headaches/dizziness. I have PCOS and I have been off Birth control sice December and was having a 43 day cycle. I haven't been using protection because my husband and I want a baby. I have been on metformin twice a day. I took a pregnancy test a week ago and it was negative. I took another one yesterday and still negative. I always use the first morning urine. I feel pregnant. I have stomach boating and I just feel pregnant. What should I do now? I don't have insurance at the moment and don't want to waste money on tests I don't need.

First... you can't Feel pregnant this early on. Second nausea, Cravings.. heartburn, dizziness etc are almost always symptoms of other things (I'm a man and I've had all of them before). And plenty of women suffer from mood swings...

If you are two weeks late now... wait onather week or two and take another test... first thing in the morning the first time you pee.

Its possible you took the last one too early.

I ordered a blood test online after consulting with my doctor. It alerted me to a hormone imbalance that was mimicking pregnancy due to my PCOS. The test helped rule out an ectopic.

I don't know where you get information from but I talked with my DOCTOR and my mother who had two children and it is possible to begin feeling pregnancy symptoms as early as a week after conception. It is all individual to the woman. I don't appreciate you discounting my feelings like that. Secondly, if you are a MAN then what qualifies you to answer a question about whether a woman might be pregnant or not. I asked to hear answers from women who have had similar situations. Since you cannot get pregnant I don't feel you would be qualified to try and answer that. We know our bodies. We can tell PMS from something else.

Thank goodness I listened to my doctor and not you and got a blood test. My PCOS was causing a severe hormone imbalance that mimicks pregnancy exactly. I got a blood test and now have the necessary steps to improve my symptoms. The doctor said it was great that I got tested because of the risk for ectopic pregnancy. Don't go answering questions if your not qualified to do so.

You realize that there aren't any actual doctors who give free medical advice online, right? And if they say they are, how would you know?

I was looking for some helpful advice from other women who may have gone through the same thing.
Ah, OK, that's understandable. Just remember, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. ;-)

Actually, sometimes you CAN'T tell PMS from being pregnant. I spent TEN YEARS trying to get pregnant. I cannot tell you how many times I just "felt" pregnant, and got excited about symptoms (that ultimately turned out to be something else) and then had my heart broken month after month after month because I kept reading symptoms as "pregnant" when they were "PMS", "Hungry", "Tired", "whatever".

You SHOULD always consult with a doctor when trying to get pregnant. You should also consult with a doctor when something feels "off" with your body.

But please--from someone who has been there--don't snap at people for telling you that "feeling pregnant" isn't enough without a positive pregnancy test.

PS---there are LOTS of men out there who have been through pregnancies with their girlfriends or wives, and many more who have sisters, mothers, aunts, cousins and PATIENTS who have been pregnant. Please don't presume that a man doesn't know something simply because of his gender. That's sexist, and we don't tolerate discrimination around here.
