Three vaccinations plus new food ( was food recommended by your vet) could be the cause of the runs. Is she drinking and doing everything else normally?

She is drinking water and still very active. She ate beef neck bone and blackberries yesterday. She has had 3 sets of shots.

Very possible that the raw diet-type foods gave her an upset tummy. Beef neck bones are way to hard for a little puppy to eat. If you are deciding on feeding raw food even if its in small amounts, stick with just muscle meats and leave out the bones.

How many blackberries? Be careful with fruits. Some fruits dogs can't have. You should be reading up on what types of fruits and veggies dogs can and can't have before just giving your dog a snack.

Like people, dogs can get the runs without a specific reason as to why. Little puppies have weaker immune systems and are more susceptible to catching bacterial infections and the 24-48hr bug.

As long as she is drinking water and eating at a normal pace, you should be OK over the weekend. You can try feeding PURE pumpkin (Don't get pumpkin pie mix, just get regular canned pumpkin) and give her a good soup spoons worth once or twice a day. You can also dose with Pepto Bismol which is 1tsp per 10lbs of body weight.. Once the diarrhea stops, stop using this medication right away because it can cause constipation. Feeding rice also works.. it helps add fiber into the stool and make it more solid. Yogurt and cottage cheese is also another good way to offset diarrhea.

Just keep an eye on your pup.. Just feed a nice bland diet of browned hamburger and rice or boiled chicken and rice. Add some sugar to the water to make her drink and stay interested in drinking and if the diarrhea hasn't stopped by Monday, than take her into the vet for a check up.

Blackberries would give me the runs too; raw food, yes, me too and I am I think human. I cook knuckle bones, marrow bones for Brook, never give them raw, but I eat the marrow on toast before she gets them ! The marrow bones are like all day suckers, in fact, she has found some of Taffy's old bones in the hard. They are 'knawable' can't eat them, just always taste good I guess and knaw on them.

But wait until your lovely pup is a bit older to do this.

I never give my dogs cooked bones from table scraps, but the bones I give them cannot be eaten, they are just too hard and too dense to get a piece off.

LoL.. giving hard bones leads to cracked and broken teeth.. Sorry the veterinary world has ruined me.. I see too many results from hard bones, nylabones and so on...

No cracked teeth in this household. I always trust your judgment, Lucky, no doubt about that, but my dad going way back always had hunting dogs, me too, until I stopped hunting with bow and arrow cause it got too built up in our world.

With a lot of dogs, we always cooked up knuckles and leg bones, after dad sawed the leg bones up (beef cattle) and I guess, no dogs with problems or broken teeth.

It isn't like brook is knawing a bone 24 hours a day, maybe she forgets about one or two for about a week, then finds it again (in time of stress).

She is now recovering from her second ligament operation on left leg, but can't watch her 24 hours a day. She is okay, doesn't even need a cone to stop licking the sutures, so I guess she is pretty well adjusted and happy !
