Called Lowe's customer service, they couldn't help me but did offer to sell me a complete remote kit which I neither need nor want.
Went to the local Lowe's store, they said they couldn't help that I should call their customer service.

Check with Radio Shack or an "Electronic Store" to see if they can help you.

These are cheap throw-away kind of fans. Don't get your hopes up on buying just a remote.
I would get the kit from Lowe's.

Thanks, you are likely right. I was thinking somebody's fan may have died and they still have a now useless remote.
