    Can't find Momma and babies
I was holding my pregnant cat yesterday, and I could tell she was in labor, she has disappeared, so I'm sure she has given birth. I don't know where she went. Will she bring her babies home? We set up, what we thought were perfect places in the garage (where her food and water is and she usually sleeps in the garage, not where we have a bed for her, but in odd places). Also it rained yesterday for quite awhile. She is very young, we think, just a year old. This is all new to us, we don't know what to do, if we were to find her, we have read, that we shouldn't move her and the kittens. Can you help us?

Your cat probably found a more secluded location to have her litter. She thought there was too much traffic at her old nest. As long as her new place is dry and safe, I would not move her and the kittens, or she might decide to move them again. Be sure to visit the kittens in the first 3 weeks, so they can establish a bond with humans. Somewhere I read that if this bond is not made, the kittens will be ferral (wild). Enjoy.

Do you mean she is still somewhere in the garage or did she go outside? Either way its very important you find her and the babies. New born kittens need to be kept very warm or they will die.
If you think she is still in the garage, just go and sit there very quietly, you may hear them or she may come out to see you.
Good luck, I hope you find them soon so you can bring them into the warm house.

I would leave the mother cat to her own senses of nature and nurture. She most likely found a safer, less human place to have her kittens. My Grandmother's mama cat did that all the time - and because the grandkids were always trying to find her. If you find the mama cat, do not disturb her. You can leave some food and other nourishment for her. It is fine to check on her, but do not attempt to move her or her new babies. Give her and the litter a bit of time and then you can continue the socialization.

My cat did the same thing. She did eventually bring the kittens inside but by that time they would not let any people touch them, and later they got a bad case of fleas that I am still trying to get rid of. If I were you I would try to find the cat and the kittens as soon as possible, just to make sure she doesn't bring them in when you are not aware and bring fleas in with them.
