Was it a private adoption, open adoption, closed, something else?
If you know the ID of the friends, can't you just ask them?
Hire an investigator to attempt to locate her OR, if you know her name, check FB and other social sites. There also are sites for people seeking other people.
If you are looking for her to tell her that allowing her to be adoption was the worse mistake you ever made in your life you are probably going to emotionally hurt her and are doing a grave injustice to her adoptive parents.
How often have you attempted to contact her over the years? I'm an investigator and I've seen situations like this turn out badly, very badly. It's not all about you.

I understand how you feel, but frankly I don't think you are looking at this from both sides.
There are several sites where birth parents can register their desire to contact children put out for adoption and vice versa. If she wants to connect with you, she will probably list herself on those sites.
Unless she is willing to connect, you should not approach her.
Also, she is not a "Missing Person" so I've moved this to a more appropriate forum.

I think, Judy, that "Friends of Children" is the name of the agency she used.
You can contact the agency and leave your contact information with them, and you can register on reunion websites--adoption.org and ISRR are two of the best.
I do not condone searches that are not mutual, so those are probably your best options.

"Syn," I read your answer, read the question, read your answer - and then the light went on! You know how I read it - good catch, because I had no idea there was such an organization.
Thanks -
Otherwise my advice remains the same.
