    Mower won't start
    I had to replace the mageinto ,( mouse chewed through spark plug wire).Now I can't set timing . PLEASE HELP!

    Did you gap the mag at about .010 between mag and magnet on flywheel.
    The timing is set inside the engine.

My craftsman 18hp rider-model # 917-273402 seems to be stuck in gear, therefore it won't start. The linkage is OK, the dead mans switch seems to be OK, and I cleaned up a small build-up of grass. Any other things to check. The clutch/brake pedal also seems OK. Thanks, Craig

My lawn mower did the same thing. I did not leave it out in the rain. It is over 10 years old. Did you ever get yours fixed?
