My shower/tub upstairs drains into the downstairs toilet causing it to overflow, why?

We have lived in our town home for almost 2 years and never had a problem with plumbing other then the customary plugged toilet. The last week whenever some takes a shower or tub upstairs it drains down into the downstairs toilet and sink. We have snaked it and also had a plumber out here 2 times...

The other night my little girl was showering upstairs when I heard water dripping DOWNSTAIRS. I looked into the downstairs bathroom and saw the light fixture half full of water and pouring everywhere + running down the walls. I shut off the light and ran upstairs to get her out of the STEEL tub....

Our upstairs tub draining causes the toilet on the bottom floor to overflow with warm tub water from above (not sewer)... water only. I don't know the routing/piping on a two story house with regard to plumbing but any ideas? Washing machine running at same time on cold.. no other problems were...

Our upstairs shower is apparently leaking into our dining room directly below it. It looks like the previous homeowner attempted to fix the problem as there is a hole in the dining room celing that was filled with plaster.
