I am 26 year olds old and just had my pap on tues and was diagnosed with BV. I was perscibed zithromax (which I took all 4 pills that day) and metronidazole which I am curently still taking at this time. My fiancé and I had sex last night and it was like I had no feeling and couldn't really feel anything and also felt dry. I had asked him and he said I wasn't. I don't know what is going on or if we are not suppose to be having sex while I am still on medication but I don't like that I am not enjoying nor can feel anything while having incourse. Is this normal?

Good question. I think the bacterial vaginosis is de-sensitizing you, not the meds. Why don't you lay off the initimate part until you get better.

You were prescribed some pretty hard line meds for it, so it will be a while. After it gets better, no douches, no dirty fingernails from foreplay (dont take offence). Our vaginal wall has a certain Ph balance and is actually self cleaning as long as we are careful what goes in and what comes out. Treat it right and you will never have vg again!

Thank You so much for replying! It had me very scared and uncomforable.. I will deff lay off from that till of meds and fully back to normal. I read somewhere to start taking a probiotic to get my phd back up. What do you think?

No, not priobiotic, that doesn't have very much to do with anything but your bowels, really.

Does your partner use condoms, maybe condoms with some KYJelly if he gets really testy.
