    Unable to access jarfile.lib\ziggytv.jar
I installed ZiggyTV today, and with it came a message that my Java was being upgraded. The upgrade failed, so I went to Java which told me they detected a 32 bit browser on a 64 bit system and that I needed too download both 32/64 upgrades which I did. When finished I rebooted and went to open ZiggyTV but it crashes with a dialogue box that says "unable to access jarfile.lib\ziggytv.jar". I tried some of the fixes posted for similar comments in the forums (i.e. reset the .jar default program and open a new user account) but nothing has worked. Any suggestions?

Go in and DELETE all the Java directories and download them again... its the standard practice with other Java based applications when you have Java issues.

Thanks Smoothy - I appreciate the suggestion... but for a person of my not-so-advanced abilities your instructions were just short of the info I needed for the actual fix. For anyone out there in the future with similar problems, try this: 1.) Go to Control Panel; then select Programs; and then fully uninstall any old versions of Java. 2.) Go to java.com: Java + You and select the download that suits your pc's OS and configuration. 3.) Do an offline download to your computer. Don't choose "Run" - choose "Save" and then after the download completes, click the executable file and follow the wizard. (For some reason, choosing "run" corrupts the file.) Thanks again to Smoothy for putting me on the right path.

I mentioned delete... because we (we have a fairly big company) have seen that if JAVA gets corrupted... sometimes it won't fully uninstall as it should... and that can cause problems when you reinstall.

Normally you can do a regular full uninstall as you detailed and all will be fine... just be aware if that doesn't resolve your problem... you may have to take the more extreme step I mentioned.

We use a lot of java based applications where I work... so we have had enough instances where a clean unintall doesn't happen (we have well over 100,000 employees)... our standard approach is do it through the brute force method as a first step. And yes... I usually have to do this once or twice a year on almost every one of my machines. (I've got 7 in front of me)

Wow Smoothy - Thanks. I hope you understand that you and I live in two (or more) completely different worlds... But I am way impressed and thankful that people like you take time out to help people in need... Thanks! Thanks for me, and thanks for any who haven't said it.
