    "Dicorate side effects
Mood swing/behavioural changes; thrombocytopenia, pancreatitis. Stomach cramps, diarrhoea, anorexia, dyspepsia, hair loss, sickness and vomiting; hyperammonaemia; extraordinary change in weight."

This is a serious drug and your general health needs to be monitored, although 250 mg is a fairly low dose. Your doctor should monitor your liver, pancreas and gallbladder, because valproic acid (the ingredient in the drug) is associated with pancreatitis, probably from gallstones. But you would have stomach pain and vomiting.

Drugs for lowering cholesterol may or may not be needed for life. Only working with your doctor will determine that. Changing your diet drastically may or may not have an effect. The body can produce cholesterol as well as you eating too much of it.

Liver enzymes can go up from taking statin drugs to lower cholesterol, as well as numerous other reasons including some of the conditions mentioned above, and only your doctor can tell you if it's temporary or not.

There's no way to know all about your history to determine why you have pain in your joints and weakness below your knees. There's too many reasons. Check your blood pressure for starters, since your legs are farthest from your heart. A slight chance of intolerance to gluten (celiac disease) can give joint pain and leg pain, and although probably remote, it wouldn't hurt to eliminate any wheat products from your diet for a while.
