Hi,
I live in an 8 year old builder home and have a question about running an old school electric wall clock. The general electric clock is around 50 years old with a 115 VAC, 2 watt motor and the cord is a two prong plug. The cord is in good condition with no splits or fraws. Do I need to worry about a possible overload or fire? I will be running the clock with an 3 foot extension cord plugged into a ground three prong receptacle. Do I need to add a surge protector bar or will the breaker blow on the main electrical panel if there is an overload? Will it be safe to leave the clock running when no one is at home? Thanks for any advise you may provide.

You should have no problems. Just plug it in and let it run. You don't need to do anything special.

Being 50 years old is not very old, I'm more than 50 years old and I still run.
Well, maybe not run but I function and function very well, if you ask me, and I don't require any special treatment.
