There are hundreds of different brands, makes, and models of electric furnaces. All with different controls and locations of controls. The only way to know for sure is through knowledge of such equipment and a great understanding and comprehension of wiring diagrams/schematics. I would suggest taking the make, model and serial number to a local hvac business and see if they can't help you sort this out. Good luck, and please do let me know how things work out.
