230 voit pump seam to burn up the pressure switches
Pressure switches would be rated by amperage draw.
A 7.5 hp pump is a big pump. What's the amperage draw? Another factor to consider is how often the pump cycles on and off. Constant cycling would burn up points of switch.

    What size tank?

    Lee,

Guess I am reading a 50 gal flow. I have a 300 ft well, don't know the pump size but think it is in the 5 hp range. It had a 50 gal flow 30 years ago when I put it down. Now probably only 30 gal flow, but it is on a 1800 gallon tank.

Oops. I think your probably correct here. Just assumed tank instead of flow. Good catch. Still curious about the 7 1/2 hp. That is a industrial sized pump. Ive seen farms that water thousands of cattle, supply the home and all farm buildings that only use (the biggest Ive seen in my area) 2 hp. Even that requires a special control box, but a standard pressure switch works just fine. Not sure about the pressure switch requirements on a pump motor that big.
