From what my doctor tells me it is normal to have random periods like that sometimes, because our menstrual cycle is hormonal, there are different things that can affect it.. stress, gaining weigth, lossing weigth, etc... www.marchofsdimes.com is a website that helps me every month. I ago to it during my period every month. This website has an ovulation calendar, you type in your period days, and it tells you according to them the days you ovulate, are fertil and when you are not. Hope this helps:)

There is no calculator that can accurately determine when you ovulate. All those ovulation calendar aps are useless. The only way to accurately determine when you ovulate every month, is to take your basal temperature for at least 6 months. You can also buy ovulation kits, they're far more accurate than a calendar or ap.

As for your period, it could be that you're just having an off month, or you could be pregnant. Wait and see what happens with your next period. If you miss it, try a pregnancy test using first morning urine.

Getting one of those ovulation kits can be expensive if you have to buy one every month, because you are irregular with your period though. I always thought it was rigth before my period, but I have found out that it is kind of in the middle like a 1-2 weeks before your period. I do agree that there is not a 100% method to know exactly:(

Actually, taking your basal temperature, keeping track for 6 months, is almost 100%. Also, it will only cost you a thermometer.

The ovulation apps and calendars online, are based on averages, when the average woman ovulates. Many women don't follow that average, which is why the calendars and apps don't work.

As for ovulation kits, I work at a Dollar store, we sell them, and they are just as accurate as any other kit on the market, at a low cost of $1each. They don't have to be expensive.

Yeah I thought they were based on the average Woman, but I still used it, I guess it kind of gave me an answer, at least that is what I thought. Oh really? I might have to go get some at the Dollar store. Thanks

    No problem.

Just remember that average can mean as little as 51%. In other words, 51% of women fall into the average. The rest, not so much. If you're trying to conceive, I wouldn't go by an app or the average, especially when you can easily, if not quickly, determine when you ovulate.

Definitely go to your local dollar store for ovulation kits. I've been working there for almost 2 years, and 5 of my regular customers have gotten pregnant largely because of those kits (at least that's what they claim). So they do work. The kits you buy in big name stores, you pay for the name, and the store you buy them in. They can be expensive, but really, price doesn't make them any more valid than the ones you buy for $1.

We don't make a cent off those kits. We buy them for a buck and sell them for a buck. The other stores buy them for a buck and sell them for $12, or even more.
