I have been in a relationship for 4 years, we have had our ups and downs and had breaks and split up and always got through it, I have a daughter who thinks of him as a dad as he loves her like his own, but over the last 6 months or so we have lost every part of a relationship, there is no affection, we haven't had sex in over 2 months, he sleeps on the couch as he says he can't sleep, we don't have fun together and don't go anywhere together, and hardly acknowledge each other. When we come home we argue about stupid things and it turns into a massive argument and then the name calling begins and we don't talk to each other for days. I've tried to talk to him but it's a lost cause, he keeps saying its just a stage were going through or we both just need to sort ourselves out. I don't get it? We are both unhappy and I have said to him we need to go our separate ways if we can't work things through and its like he just ignores me, and thinks I'm whining!

What are you arguing about? What does he want from you? Why can't you talk? Sorry for all the questions but without specifics its hard to know what's going on the last 6 months. Is he having troubles at work or what?

He doesn't work and hasn't for years, I work fulltime and support all of us, He does a lot for me helping out with my daughter,but no a lot around the house. We argue about my daughter a lot he says I'm a hopless mother and says I don't punish her and I'm a walk over, Ive tried to talk to him about this and have said he is too harsh and I'm her mother so will punish her how I see fit, I feel like he just pushes me out of raising her, that causes more arguing. Ive said to him about getting a job and again its more arguing! He doesn't want to talk about things because he thinks I'm just putting on the poor me act, Im frustrated and keep bringing things up because nothing is resolved. I don't know what's going on with him as he won't open up. I keep wondering if there is someone else, he has said there isn't but he obviously isn't interested in me!

Remove yourself from this situation period. He is a lousy mate and house husband so no more excuses, or hoping he changes. Change yourself, and your situation.

It sounds so simple. Its not, I still have hope things will change when he starts work again,stupid I know! I do still love him and just wish I could fix things. I feel depressed and have lost touch with all of my friends as well, I feel scared to be alone. I know he is going through some depression too, I wish he would help himself, I know he can be a better person!
