    Roper oven
    I have a roper oven. Its probably about 12 yrs old. It does not have digital timer on top just old clock kind. It is self cleaning. But the self cleaning doesn't work.

    Every once in a while the oven will really smell when I put it on. It's a horrible toxic smell. Ironically it happened Thanksgiving and worked OK afterwards. Today I was going to put a Turkey in, yes the one I didn't cook for thanksgiving, and the same horrible smell!

    IT IS NOT A GAS SMELL But it does smell toxic?

    Don't know what I should look for

    You need to have it checked out. It could be dirty, too, but if it's gas it could also be a leak.
