    MOR-FLO water heater
    MOR-FLO Water Heater - leaking water from pipe on top...

    I have a MOR-FLO water heater Model # E52-40R-038DV, Serial # 9637119856 that is leaking water from the pipe connected on top. I need assistance on this. Don't know if jusdt the part needs to be replaced or the whole water heater... HELP

    Hi Ic3913

    It sounds like the TEMEPERATURE AND PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE (see image) is the issue. These can be located on the top or the side of the water heater.

    In most cases when these go off it is a simple defective part and needs to be replaced.

    At other times when these valves go off it is a result of someone making a change to the water system (adding a check valve or pressure reducing valve as an example).

    The issue can also happen as a result of excessive pressure or excessive temperature, or both... ;)

    In cases like the latter presented, you can test temperature and pressure using thermometers and pressure gauges (sold at all home improvement stores). If temperature exceeds 150F and/or pressure exceeds 100 PSI then you have other issues that need to be dealt with quickly!

    For now, if all else seems normal I would just replace the temperature and pressure relief valve... should do the trick!
