    Urgent advice on Pregnancy Blues
    Hello Doc,

I had unprotected intercourse with my fiancée on 17 Feb. Within two hours she had the I-Pill. She was expecting her periods by 11-12 Feb. So, it was already delayed. Then we again happen to have unprotected intercourse on 24 Feb and this time I released volumes inside her. I could manage the I-Pill only after 9-10 hours and she took it immediately. Now, she has developed anxiety over missing her periods and now most of the times she fights saying that she is scared about being pregnant. Due to some unavoidable circumstances, we cannot get the test done, and I too assured her that she is not pregnant. But, she is adamant and keeps screaming on me.

I am worried and need some help in the form of comforting words - that she is not pregnant - and advice from you.

    Thanks n Regards,

    The Worried Man.

This isn't too comforting but maybe the time to worry is before you have sex.

"this time I released volumes inside her" Not sure if the world needed to know that and the amount has nothing to do with it.

How difficult is it to march down to the drug store or Phamacy (Chemist in the UK). And buy a home pregnancy test for her to take first thing in the morning?

They only cost a couple dollars... and I doubt someone's there watching her use the toilet.

And besides... how could she miss PERIODS as in plural when its 2-26-2013 today and by your own words... you only had sex 9 days ago.

I'm curious wha the huge rush was that you couldn't go get and use protection if you weren't actually trying to have a baby?

So first off... its still way too early to test yet... and the take-the-lazy-way-out-pill 9isn't 100% effective any more than actual birth control is 100% effective.

You don't try to fill the cup up... if you never wanted the cup to get wet in the first place.

SO first.. you are going to have to listen to her get upset for a while longer... because this is as much fault if not more than hers in the first place until you can find out.

And second... get ready to give up your freedom to get a job and support that baby the next 18+ years if she is pregnant .

If that came across as being a bit harsh... we it was meant to be... You both had unprotected sex... what did you think might happen? This is serious.. its not like making a mistake buying a T-shirt you dislike the next day.

Sorry, no comforting words here. The fact is, pregnancy is a possibility. There is no form of birth control that's 100%, including the morning after pill. The only form of birth control that is 100% is for her to keep her knees crossed, and you keep your pants zipped.

You'll have to wait and see. It's way too early to test, and the morning after pill can throw off her period. So wait at least a month, and if she doesn't get a period, test using first morning urine. Those are your options.

If you get lucky and she's not pregnant, then learn from this. Sex causes pregnancy. If you're going to have sex, even with protection, you have to be prepared for parenthood, because it does happen, more often then you may realize.
