    Back child support
    Can I get back child support for my daughter for the 7 years before my husband adopted her from her biological father?

    Was it filed for... ordered by the court and behind BEFORE the adoption happened?

    If it was yes you can but If not... then no you can't.

    He paid me a little bit of support without court order, but then stopped when he met his current wife. His paternity was established when he signed the release papers for her to be adopted. This was before DNA, and a woman was raked across the coals to prove paternity if the father protested it.

    No, he is not responsible for child support if it was not ordered by the Court.

    It is too late to file now.
