I lied to my parents. How do I regain their trust?
Im 13 years old and my parents went away to Cuba and left me alone in my house. They asekd me to invite no one in. Obviously, I ditched the last period of school on Monday and the 3 first on Friday. They found out but did nothing because they said it they'd forgive me if I confessed. But what I didn't tell them is that I ditched the last period of Monday with my friend and we came to my house. They did asked me if someone came in and I said no. They found out and took away everything: phone, iPod, touchpad, laptop(theirs), internet and my friends (1. I know you think I'm spoiled 2. You're certanly wondering how I'm posting this but it'll be too long to explain). They're taking it for like 6 months and my birthday is in 19 days! How can I earn their trust considering my parents are the strictest (They're moroccan, don't ask why they're strict. ''Moroccan'' says is all)? Don't tell me to write a letter because trust me, that won't work. Please help me. I really need my stuff. How can I live without music seriously? Or write to my crush? And you're still thinking that I'm spoiled I know. I also know what I did was wrong so don't repeat it. Please help me.

You have to EARN their trust... that means its not going to be easy and you are going to have to work hard.

That means you do exactly what you are told, and when you are told... you stop telling lies about things. You work hard with your studies at school... and in time you will probably earn it... I'm not talking days or even weeks, or even months... it might take well over a year or more. They trusted you for something very important and you proved you weren't worthy of trust.

Show a little maturity to start with. I mean seriously... you say how can you live without music? The answer to that is very easily... VERY, VERY easily.

And live with the fact you aren't getting it back for 6 months, because you deserved it (actions have consequences)... be glad they don't sell it, because it's their to sell... they bought it, they paid for it... its theirs to do with as they wish... they were only letting you use it.

It wouldn't be punishment if it was easy or didn't make you suffer. (and seriously... this really ISN'T suffering).

Please don't attempt to dictate how your question will be answered - it makes you look even more spoiled and demanding.

I trust your computer was taken away because your parents don't want you on line - but here you are!

You can regain their trust little by little by acting in a responsible way, being truly sorry you defied them, doing your chores without complaining and not lying to them in the future.

It will take some time - you not only defied them, you lied.

    Trust doesn't come overnight.
