    Birth control pills
I had started taking birth control pills in November of 2009 to prepare myself for my marriage in December. After over a year and half of marriage my husband and I decided to start trying to have a baby. After speaking to a nurse from the ask a nurse hotline, I stopped taking my pill at the end of August, and in October we found out we were almost 5 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately our joy was out lived, for a week after the positive pregnant test, I found out I was having an ectopic pregnancy. It's been almost 4 months since the loss, an though at first we were eager to try again, we have came to the conclusion that we want to wait a while before trying again, maybe just have a year or more to ourselves. So we adopted a kitten instead and now I'm looking to start back on my pills, but I didn't know if there was some special way to do that. I was just thinking count 7 days from the start of my next period, and then start taking the pills again as normal. Is it okay just to start up again, or what should I do?

The best way is to visit your doctor and discuss this with him/her. Doctor will probably give you advise on this, rather then asking strangers on 'what to do'.

This is a highly personal issue for a woman, and the doctor should be involved in any questions regarding the proper birth control to take, a new prescription for same, and fertility thereafter.
