    Umbilical cord is hypo-coiled
My daughter-in-law is in her 22nd week of pregnancy and just found out the umbilical cord is hypo-coiled. The baby's heart rate is in the 90 percentile as is the babies growth and mom is feeling movement regularly. She will be going for test with her OB GYN but I am anxious to find out exactly what this means and what the risk are during pregnancy and the affects it may have on the baby after birth.

Studies show that second trimester hypocoiled cords present a high risk for preterm delivery as well as a high risk for low birth weight babies.
