Poems can be hard to decipher, but if you break it up, go word by word, then you can do it.

So, let's take a look at the sentence you posted;

all life's variance of form, mass and hue soon wither to me 'neath the grate and the flue

Look up the words that aren't so clear to you, find out what they mean, replace them with a word you do know that means the same thing. This one is a bit tough, but if you break it up, you can figure it out. By doing this you'll learn to do it in the future, and you'll be prepared for any test you have. That's the main goal. :)

You can Google and get the answer, but unless they allow you to use Google during a test, you really won't learn much.

Yes I was solving dire grove and I got the answer it was ashes took me long enough lol
And I'm 27 who ever thought it was homework read the year on my user name

No one knows 1985 is your birth year. It might be how many glasses of milk you drank in 2012 -- in other words, a date/number can mean anything.

We're supposed to know that the 1985 behind your username is the year you were born? How? My username doesn't have any numbers, so how old am I? There are people on this site that have 5 or more digits in their username, so what are we to assume from that?

Bottom line, we can't read minds, so there was no way to know that the 1985 in your username is your birth year, unless you tell us.

We get a lot of homework questions on this site, and frankly, yes, your question did sound like homework.
