I am 20 years old and I have had 3 womb infections since I had a misscarriage last January and I also have a lump (downstairs) which I think could be a bart something but now they are telling me that I may have too much damage to my womb to be able to conceive again unless the damage repairs itself becase its apparently inoperable... do you have any idea what's wrong with me or even a name for what could be as the doctors aren't really saying much my next appointment isn't until the 18th of feb.

Sorry, but we can't tell you what is going on, because we don't know your medical history aside from what you have already told us. We can't diagnose or recommend, or advise or even guess on the internet.

I do know however, that when you have a miscarriage, a doctor's visit is in order to make sure that everything has vacuated from your uterus. Anything left in there will cause problems like infections. It is actually dead tissue that has to be removed during a procedure called curetage, or D & C.

Assuming that you are okay after a miscarriage is just so absolutely wrong.

Advise you to start asking question when you see that doctor on the l8th; even if you have to write all your thoughts and questions down so you know what is going on with your body. You must be pro-active about it, because no one else is going to be, not even the doctor. He will only do what needs to be done, so start asking.

I would recommend that you go to another doctor for a second opinion, and try to get in sooner. I am concerned that this infection hasn't been resolved and also by the potential prognosis of infertility.

As for the lump, it could be a swollen lymph gland. These glands are throughout your body and become swollen and sometimes even a little sore when they are fighting an infection. We usually notice when we have strep, for example, that our neck swells - it's not the infection itself that's swelling our neck, it's the glands fighting that infection.
