    Pilot light keeps going out
We have a Lennox gas furnace. I'm not sure how old it is. We've been living in our house for ten years, and it was here well before that. Last night, we smelled gas, and the pilot light had gone out. My husband re-lit it, and it seemed to be working OK. This morning, we woke up to the smell of gas in the house, and the pilot light was out again. Any advice would be appreciated. Is there something we can do to test the unit or check it ourself?

Try lighting the themocouple under 15secs, if it lights your good. If your holding it longer replace the thermocouple with a 36inch. Clean the pilot head might have slight soot build up. Somtime just sandpaper it. Last resort call your service guy
