Furnace Humidifier: Hook up to hot water?

Furnace Humidifier: Hook up to hot water?

I just noticed that the water line servicing my furnace humidifier is hooked up to the HOT water coming out of the water heater. Is this normal, or should it have been hooked up to the COLD water? Thank you.
