    Will
My step dad recently died... and because I was and still am estranged from the rest of my family... I don't know if anyone will contact me about his will. My father was a very clever man... and would have made sure things were airtight... but he died in August last yr... and I still haven't heard anything. My dad was asking for me near the end... and nobody contacted me... I'm in bits... please help. Shay

Do you know who the executor is (since you are sure he had a will)?
Did that person have your address (or did family in general)?
Do you know where the probate court is local to him?
    How far away are you?
If no one will talk to you, you will have to start asking. You can contact the probate court, or hire a lawyer in his town, or even a PI, if searching is difficult for you.

Also if he didn't have a will and you weren't adopted by him at anytime then you may not be entitled to anything.

You do have the right to inquire about it.

Agree as a step child, you do not get anything, unless he left it in the will. You can check with the probate court of the county where he lived to see if there has been any filing in probate
