    Grandparent visitation
    My former in laws are suing me for grandparent visitation. They filed two months after the death of my husband 18 months ago. The judge has sent us to a psychiatrist because he could not make a decision as to the children's best interests. The grandparents never took care of my children as parents, they had a very superficial relationship and my children do not want to see them yet it looks like everyone in this case is leaning toward the grandparents.. There is more to it, but trying to give you my case in a nutshell. I would like to know, if I get remarried and my fiancé adopts my children does this change anything? The case has not concluded but I suspect it will soon. Both myself and my children have no interest in maintaining a relationship with the grandparents ever again. Please advise

    Without knowing your location it's almost impossible to know what a Court will decide.

    No, adoption would not change grandparents' rights - IF grandparents' rights are awarded.

    If your state allows for grandparents rights then they may receive visitation by court order. What compelling reason do you have to deny them visitation?

    Normally unless it is proved that they are a danger ( not just disliking them) but a real threat, they will get visitation rights. ( and honestly I think they should,) you have not shown any reason for them not to at this point in your post.

    But no getting married and adoption would not change the rights of the grandparents
