My navel piercing seems to take time to heal. What should I do to hasten the healing?
I had it done about 4 months ago. It turned kind of dark in the area where it is pierced. But I think it's not infected because there's no puss and there are no other signs of infection. Could it be the effect hydrogen peroxide? Because I put some on my piercing before. Please help. I'm kind of getting worried..

Belly piercings take the longest to heal. Several months. Don't see how one can hasten the process. Glad to hear there are no signs of infection. No more peroxide, it burns new tissue, that could slow your healing. Find a less harsh way to keep it clean, and wait... time will do it.

Thanks for the information :) I just have one concern and I'm getting worried because it kind of turned dark (purplelish) in the area of piercing. The place where the barbell is inserted. Is that normal?

Do you think the discoloration might be from the metal?
Or does it seem more like a bruise? You may have snagged it in your sleep...
Is it sore at all? Does the area seem to have a 'fever'?
Is there an odor, or is the site 'weepy' at all?
Does anything come out if you give the area a squeeze or pinch?
Can you go back to where you had it done and ask them to take a look at it?
    :)

Hi! I'm glad there's someone to help me :)
I actually don't have any idea how to tell if the discoloration is caused by the metal..
Can you tell me how can I know?
The dark area is only in the area where the barbell is.
But no. it's not sore at all. And there is no odor and anything coming from it.
So I'm kind of sure that it's not an infection..

If it doesn't seem infected~my guess is the discoloration is from the metal... maybe it's not "stainless" steel. Kind of a similar thing when one wears copper and it oxidizes on the skin leaving a stain. It sounds just fine to me~but maybe to ease your mind you could go back to the place where you had it done and let them check it out. It really sounds okay to me though, and I'd say just keep cleaning twice a day with something mild (not peroxide) and give it some time. Try not to touch it much especially without washing your hands first. Those belly piercings take a really long time to heal. Happy healing! :)
