    Why isn't donor sperm allowed in islam?? And if one does it how sinful it is
    Asalamu alaikum
    I have been married for de last 2yrs and nw am 27yrs old... me and my husband have been trying to have baby immediately after we got married... n aftr few test and treatment we got to know that my husband has azoospermia... so now he and his family and my mom are forcing me to go for donor sperm... I fear allah and am refusing them... but am scared that I might fall weak and agree to what they saying... I want to know for what reason donor sperm is not allowed and how sinful it is to get it done... please guide me.. and plus my mom is facing a lot of health issue so she is emotionally black mailing me that before anything happens she wants to see a baby in my hand and this will also save my marriage according to her... but then I just don't want to agree and see my husband and mom getting punished from allah.. what should I do.. please guide

    I am not muslim but found this explanation:

    Per some Islamic scholars, no fertility treatments are allowed unless both husband and wife are in agreement and are pursuing it together. Donor sperm are not allowed because Islam puts a high priority on preserving family lineage, which is confused when another man's sperm is introduced to the marriage. For the same reason, adoption is not permitted. It is also considered to be akin to adultery to have another man's sperm introduced to a wife's body.


    So yeah - that's what I read about it. I don't want to criticize your religion but most religious have some crazy rules - I think this is an example of one of them. Do you think your child would be "confused" who his parents are? My son is adopted and we're not confused at all.
