Change of status from b2 to f1
    Hi,
I have a b2 visa for a period of 10 years I,e till 2017. I am going to visit USA mostly in feb for a visit to my uncle's place.. I would like to change my status then to f1.. I would like for some recommendations on how the status takes from b2 to f1.. And once I visit USA I can stay on a stretch of 6 months.. Is it possible to change the status? And if not feb when would be the proper time for me to visit in order to change my status..

    Thanks.

Changing B2 to F1 is "change status" not visa, so when you leave US, even for Canada or Mexico, you will need to apply for F1 to come back. Besides, to change status from B2 to F1 could take between 90-120 days and B2 will be revoked.

If you want to go to school, enroll, get I-20 and apply for F1 visa. This way your B2 is still valid.
