    vertical drywall crack over archway
    4' long vertical crack in drywall starting at the centerline of a archway, from top of archway to bottom of ceiling 4' long. This area is the vertical face of a vaulted truss set 20' wide. Trusses sit on bearing wall at this point also. Crack is on a truss kingpost that is attached to a 2ply 2x10 header above the archway, header is above the bottom chord and behind vertical web of the truss, truss is attached to header. Header is attached to bearing walls left and right of archway. Appox. Archway width is 4'. Trusses were installed in June of 2010. Crack first occur in 2011 and fixed. Came back again in 2012. This is a big room addition on a 50 year old house. Archway is 2' left of old exterior wall in new section.

    How did you first fix the crack? Did you use a repair tape or seam tape for the repair? Let me know, OK?
