    Can you regulate amperage?
Hello. Im new to this. Sorry if my question seems ridiculous. I need to regulate the amperage output from a 12 volt battery to just 4.6 amps. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The amperage used by a device is determined by the device. A device does not put out amperage, it uses amperage. The battery outputs the amperage. The device uses the amperage. It uses all it needs, if it is available, and only as much it needs. No need to regulate amperage.

It is not the same for the voltage. Voltage of the device and the battery much match.

Hey thanks for you fast reply. I really appreciate it. I hope this is how I reply. Im using this for a 12v air solenoid valve. I don't want to burn it up by doing something wrong. So would a 5 amp fuse be OK for the valve in case of a spike in voltage. This solenoid is for an airgun.
