    Completing a form 3520
I have another question about filling out the form 3520 because they make it so complicated!

I received a gift from my father who is NOT an American citizen so I am filling out the form.

I am under the impression that I only need to fill out the forms page 1 (general info) and section IV (Us recipients of gifts) and leave the other parts empty since it was a one time gift and my father is still alive.

My question is on the first page it asks in section 2a the "name of the foreign trust". Do I put my fathers name and info in here? Or do I leave it blank and not put his info anywhere? It seems like I only fill out 1 a-h and then lave the rest blank and sign.

I would really appreciate some help on this thing because its driving me crazy!

If you are not sure you can properly interpret the instructions for Form 3520, then perhaps get professional help.

To answer your questions, your impression is correct: complete Page 1 and Section IV.

Leave "name of foreign trust" blank.
