Could it be the Heat Anticpator or Snap Limit
    Hi

Our heater went down last week and we had a serivce guy come out to basically hit a reset button. He also said that one of the snap limits needed to be replaced and he put in an adustable one.

Now before the heater was fixed we messed with the controls on the thermostat including what I later found out was the heat anticpator. I think I have it back where it was and it seems to cycle the longest here but it seems it cycles more frequently.

I am not sure if this is due the heat anticpator, the weather being warmer or the snap limit. I do remember the tech guy saying that he didn't have the same snap limit but he did have an adjustable one. Could this have something to do with the cycling? It seems to come on for 5 minutes. Then off.. where before it would be off for longer times and stay on longer..

Our furnace is an electric one by Wesco is from the 70s.

Thanks for any help or suggestions..

Manual reset snap limits should not be replaced by adjustable self resetting limits. He needed to find out why the original limit tripped and put in the appropriate limit, then we will start from there.

I talked to the service guy today and he said the snap limit would have nothing to do with the cycling. He said he changed it because it looked as if it was going bad and a few of the other were changed also.

He said an option for us the heater changed to a 2 stage one.. Now I am all confused.
