    Information
Recently I was fired for theft of $30.00 from a seasonal job. Also I was not paid any over time during the summer or termination pay. I approached the ministry of labour and started a dispute with my former employer. I was informed that now he (former employer) is now stating that I have stolen $30.000 over the past four years. He also stated that the police were called when I was fired but no law enforcement contacted me. Now he is stated that they are thinking of having me charged. I was wondering since I was terminated on September 3, 2012 can an employer wait that long before charging someone.

There is no statute of limitations on this, any crime. I would wonder why he waited so long. Suggest you get a lawyer.

Thinking of having you charged is very wishy washy IMO; still wonder why he is waiting?

You stole, you were fired, and you went back to argue about overtime? Seriously?

Well, he likely wasn't going to have you charged, but when you started griping about your pay, he decided that you needed to learn a lesson.

Yes, he can have you charged. I would have left well enough alone. Why would you go back to an employer you stole from and demand more money?

Not a very bright move. You stole from them! Do you really think they owe you anything? Seriously?
