    why did the thickness of loft insulation change in 2011
    the thickness of loft insulation use to be 25mm but it changed to 270mm in 2011,
    But why?
    please can you include:
    -payback time
    -U values
    -heat transfer figures ( e.g. about heat loss through the roof)
    -methods of heat transfer
