    Rough in dim. For double kitchen sink drain
    I am putting a new sink in the kitchen and want to replace the old s trap with a p trap. I need rough in from floor to center of pipe and from center of sink to center of pipe in wall

    No problem, We rough in our drains at 18" off the floor to center, The stubout can be placed either at the sinks center or at either tub, The two tubs can then be connected by either a center or end outlet continuous waste, (see image).Goo

    Don't put the wall stubout too high or your garbage disposal may be too low. I usually go no more than 16", centered on either sink.

    Hey Brian,
    A lower rough wouldn't hurt except you'll have 2" less height in the cabinet but I never had a problem with disposals at 18". Regards, Tom

    Hey guys!

    The answer is a actually little more complicated than either response... ;)

    Here, the height of a sink drain with a garbage disposal is determined by the specific sink itself nowadays.

    A normal sink, say 6-8" deep will work fine between 16-18". A deeper sink, say 9-11", wants the drain at about 14-16", and an even deeper farm sink would want the pipe to be installed at about 12" to center off the floor!

    Anyway, figuring that Jimpk has a regular depth sink I'd say 16-18" is perfect, but just in case the sink is older/deeper, or even NEWER/deeper, I wanted to present all the numbers I have run into!
