    L.E. Forse painter
I've bought a painting "The Watermill" signed by L.E. Forse. All I know about the artist is that one of his paintings “Landscape with Tree” was owned by the Museum of South Somerset; and another his work “Evening gold” was sold at Christie's auction. I am interested with the autobiography of L.E. Forse. Besides, I would like to know what his works mentioned above are worth. Ms L. Gauci

Sorry, you will have solicit and art historian and pay money to have your paintings authenticated and appraised. That is impossible to do on the internet as the paintings have to be 'in hand'. You can probably acquire his autobio at the public library where you live

Thank you for your quick reply. I'll try to find some information at the library, and perhaps will contact an art historian as well.

Who is this painter? [ 2 Answers ]

Hello, I'm trying to identify the attached picture. I think that it is from the first half of the 19th century (oil on canvas) and a self-portrait of the painter himself. If someone can help me to identify the painter on the picture it would be grate. Thanks in advance, Freddy
