I Have A 5 1/2 Month Old Girl Who Is Solely Breastfed, Well Besides Cereal. My Milk Supply Is Starting To Decrease And My Back Up Supplies In The Freezer Is Slowly Going. I Work Part Time And Pump At Work, But That Is Still Not Enough. Can I Sub With Formula When At Work Then Breastfeed When At Home? That Will Totally Decrease My Supply. Will It Hurt The Baby?:)

The issue that may arise is nipple confusion. For both our children we did about 6 months breast then move to formula - they are both very healthy children.

As a mother of 3 boys which includes a 11 month old I don't recommend giving the baby formula and breast milk at the same time.I believe which I have seen in my sons will give her constipation and a belly ache being that you are switching up.Maybe you should wheen her off your breast milk and on to formula. You might even want to call your doctor and ask if she suggests you mix 50/50 like breast milk and formula for the baby to get use to it. Hope this helps.
