Can someone please tell me if it is possible/safe to have 3 outlets wired so that all 6 receptacles are controlled by 1 wall switch. I want to install 6 hanging lamps that already have the plugs attached, and would rather not cut them off for a hardwire install. Any suggestions/guide lines...
Switched outlet is always hot

I tried to split a switched outlet so the top is always hot and the bottom is controlled by the switch. I snapped the brass connector off and wired the neutral (with black tape) to one of the hot leads with a pigtail. The other neutral went to the silver terminal. Turned the circuit back on and...
