Maytag dryer won't run at all
My Maytag Preforma dryer was running and then suddenly it stopped never to start again.
I think it might be the thermal fuse but I can't seem to figure out how to get to it. I took the front of the dryer off, but I couldn't see anything. I can't figure out how to get the back off because it is all one piece. It wraps around from the back to front and is all one piece. Do you have any ideas. Thanks

Check your breaker panel / fuse box as it may have blown a fuse there. I quickly checked on their website, it doent mention anything about an internal fuse.

If it is the Thermal Fuse, The part is fairly cheap, and is really easy to remove and replace. (If You Could) Remove the Casing, and follow the power cord, there should be a small white plastic piece that's screwed to the dryer, where at least 2 cords hook up to it. Not knowing exact model, I looked on Maytag parts and saw a Thermal Fuse for less then $4

Seeing as you're having difficulty removing the casing, you could contact the company and see if they can help you by telling you how to remove the casing. If it's a fairly newer dryer, they may help you, but they might not and might refer you to a service tech (some service techs may also help you, if they know you'll buy a part from them, they won't frown upon a DIY'er)

I would recommend looking here, you can get a rough estimate of parts prices, should you pursue getting a service tech to come out. Brands of Dryer Parts at PartSelect

I know someone has asked about a squeaky Frigidaire dryer before and although mine is a different make the problem is the same as a previous question: My Maytag dryer makes a horrendous squeaking noise for the first 1 or 2 minutes and then stops. I have a 6 year old Maytag electric dryer. It stopped running in the middle of a load and will not start. The interior light is out (I tried a new one) and it worked before. The timer works - it will advance- but the dryer refuses to come on when it is pushed. I have checked the door switch as...
