I have a 7 week old boston terrier. She plays and gets all excited but I cannot get her to eat. I took her to my vet yesterday and he gave her a B-12 shot and all I could get in her was mothers milk via syringe and puréed puppy food via syringe. She has had Diarrhea and last night could only get her to take a few sips of water and eat a few very small pieces of cheese. Please help. The vet said her temp was good and her weight was spot on but she is not eating. Not like any other puppies I have ever had. Im scared and very very worried. I called my vet back this morning and he said to syringe feed today and tonight and then bring her back to him in the morning. I don't think that is a good enough game plan. I need help.:(

Get her to ANOTHER vet and get her tested for PARVO!! PLEASE do not wait!! Not eating and diarrhea is a bad sign, and your vet should have tested her, ESPECIALLY with the diarrhea... If there is not one available, take her to an ER

I am taking her now. I found one who is going to give her some fluids and we'll go from there. Ill be in touch. Keep Sweet tator in your prayers

I don't like any of the advice you are getting. It is true if she has parvo, her only hope is prompt IV treatment. However, if she had the diarrhea before going to the first vet, he should have recognized the distinct smell. I would go to Canine Parvovirus, What you should know about for reliable information on parvo. A playful puppy with no blood in its stools, likely doesn't have parvo. It is possible she developed parvo after the first vet visit.

I never had any problem with my new Lab puppies eating, but some puppies take a day or 2 to adjust to their new home. My lab puppy we JUST adopted went through the same thing. She is still in the ER Hospital as we speak. No diarrhea but wouldn't eat. THEN she had 2 bouts of non-bloody, NON SMELLY, diarrhea... but doing research said diarrhea is always bad and better to be safe than sorry. If she makes it, I credit it to getting her there before any of the Parvo TRULY set in (Which it did two days ago). Please think of our Tipper... we only had her for 5 days before she got sick. We're up to over $1500 in vet bills! :-('

Well all, She is eating, the vet offered her Hills and she ate every bit of it. I bought 4 cans and she ate 2 more times yesterday. Not great amounts. She didn't have any more diarrhea either. Thank GOD, I am so happy. She is still sleeping quite a bit but when she does want to play she is much more active than before. Thanks for the advice. Good luck to all of you.

Glad to hear she is doing better and eating. Continue to carefully follow the vet's advice. The sooner you get her back on a dry dog chow, the better. I will leave doing so to your vet.
