    Travel to Italy
I was convicted 15 years ago for theft in North Dakota. I spent a couple of years in jail and I want to travel to Italy. Will there be a problem with a passport in the US and will Italy let me in the country?

If you are a convicted felon, you can get your passport as long as you do not have any federal court mandate stating otherwise. Getting a passport for some people is not all about travel, but the point being, it is an excellent ID.

As for acquiring a visa to travel to Italy even with a passport, felons may have difficulty entering another country. Some countries, for example, do not allow convicted felons to enter while others may restrict entrance based on the type of crime that was committed.

You can get a passport, but to enter Italy, you need to apply for a visa.

I'll be traveling to Italy at the end of May, and then on to Paris and Rome. I freeze on airplanes, and wondered if a pair of lightweight jogging or casual pants would be okay, not too hot after landing in Rome. I was thinking about putting a short sleeved top under a light jacket, so I could...
