Symbol... On website about Two Treatises on Government-John Locke
What does § mean? I am researching some information and a topic of mine is Two Treatises on Government by John Locke. I was using the internet as a reference and I don't know what this symbol means; following the symbol are numbers and they ascend as you scroll down the page at each new paragraph or where the writing is separated. I am thinking paragraph number, but I am not for sure...

The symbol that I am requesting information about is found on this website: John Locke: Of Tyranny

I don't know if that looks quite right so if it doesn't work maybe try this?
