Carrier Furnace burners won't light
Ancient furnace burners won't light. Worked fine last year. Replaced thermo-couple (sp?) so at least we got the pilot to light. Carrier model 5868100? Series 121. Found the reset button on top but it doesn't seem like it is sticking up far enough to be legitimate.
Is there a particlar series of events that must take place in order for the burners to recognize the pilot has been re-lit? When you do need to press the reset button? I have the switch set to on (after lighting the pilot) the termostat set to 80 and on but still my burners won't fire up. |

On my Carrier furnace (model 58G5100-2) the igniter starts the pilot, and most times the pilot starts the burners after a minute or two and then the blower motor starts. Other times, pilot lights the burners which burn for a minute or two, stop and then start again... and after a few minutes...
Our Carrier Furnace 58PAV (installed in 1997) is malfunctioning. The fan will run, but the burners do not ignite and then it shuts off. Any suggestions? Thank you kindly.
