Old bryan outdoor wood furnaces wiring
We have a 20 year old bryan (not bryant) outdoor forced air wood furnace. It is not the kind that does not automatically close the damper door when it gets to hot. We are in need of some sachematics (sp) of the wiring diagram as we cannot locate ours. A wire broke into so my husband direct wired it to run all the time w/o shutting off just to get us through the night. NOW he cannot figure out how to wire it to get the thermostat to kick the stove on and off. It does have a thermostat that runs the firebox just not one on the door to the damper if that makes sense. THAT is how old it is! HELP

Is there a thermostat that runs the damper on the door that's electronic? Mine is a spring loaded manual one, that don't work, no power to it at all. How I found this thread, I am looking for a replacement damper. To answer your question, it sounds like you're having problems with the thermo switch or fan switch. I'm unsure of you're exact problem, if you need to rewire or just crossing over the switch. What I did to mine is as follows.
I started with a two way switch, kind of like a manual override, if something goes wrong with the fan switch I can flip the two way and run the blower so the stove doesn't melt down.
The main power hot line goes to the power side of the two way switch.
Take a wire from the two way switch and run it to one side of the fan switch.
Take a wire from the remaining lug on the two way switch and run it to the other side of the fan switch. Take the power wire from the blower and run it with the second wire. Neutral wire from the blower to the neutral power in wire.
    Ground

This is how mine was wired. The two wires on one side of the fan switch to the two way is how to run the blower manually.

Let me know if this helps.
