    Change of surname
    I've had my Daughter on my own for the last 9 years, her Father has her alternative weekends, but is getting re married, he wants me 2 change my surname back to my maiden name, but my almost 10 yr old wants 2 change hers to the same as mine. Can I do this ?

    You can go to court to get your maiden name back (and pay a fee), but you don't have to, and it's common for women with children to keep their married name. Your daughter can't change her name until she is 18. Your ex is being ridiculous.
