I have fine hair but it a lot of it. I also have a very flat crown which makes me look like an "egg head" when I wear it down. I am a child of the 80's so I love big hair. However, I am trying to wear it striaght but need a cut that will give my crown the volume that I need. My hair length is approx 2 inches below my shoulders & slightly layered. I have a perm to give it the body that it needs and highlights to add texture. Please advise.

I can't see your hair and head shape and face shape. Your best bet is to go to a good hair salon and get some advice, look at some of their magazines and style books, and talk to an experienced beautician about this.
