    Tax help on LI visa
    HI, since 2009 I am working for a US firm but based in Uganda. Now that I got a position in Bethesda from January how much I have to pay as my taxes. I am going to stay with my wife and two kids. My basic annual salary is 97,000 US$.
    Do my family also get SSN. Regards and Thanks

    Based on $97,000 annual salary, your Social Security Tax Liability is $4,074, while Medicare is $1,406.50.

    Your federal income tax liability is $11,762, while Maryland state taxes is $3,758.

    You WILL need to get ITINs for your wife and chjildren.

    L1 is work visa. You pay same taxes as US citizens or residents. You can file joint return and claim your kids. This will result is best tax return.
